Got It!

So I finally got it! PC3980 is mine! But it was like a maze trying to get it! Here's the story in brief:

- Had the title overnighted on Monday (to arrive Tuesday)
- Called at noon on Tuesday to check if it got there
- Called the credit union to get the tracking number - sure enough it had arrived at 10:16am at the Wilmington DMV
- Called the DMV back - they gave me a run-around, telling me that they couldn't discuss the title with me, blah blah blah. It was VERY frustrating.
- I had to get the credit union to fax the DMV a letter stating that both my name and the credit union's name was on the title
- It turns out that the STUPID woman at the DMV wrote my name down wrong - she put Joseph, Jordan. Wow. Way to go.

I met Mr. Redding at the DMV and we did the transaction. However, when I went outside to remove my tag, the left screw wouldn't come off. I was with Greg D. and Brent du P. all day so we were all trying to unscrew it but it wouldn't come off. What happened is that the fixture that holds the screw in was broken - the nut inside of the fixture was spinning with the screw but we couldn't get to it. We went to Tom's house to ask his dad's help. He whipped out a little saw and - voila - it was fixed! My old license plate is all severed and bent up - it's a mess. Here's a picture of the new one:

We also saw this on the way back from KOP - incredible sighting!

OH. MY. GODDD.

So I saw this ad on Craigslist for PC3980. I was reading it and thought to myself "Wow I bet this is expensive." I get to the end - it's $1,000. I email the guy and offer him $800. He counter-offers $900 and throws in the stainless tag so basically I got it for $800 and he saved me the aggravation of waiting a month to get a stainless tag! Pictures to come later...

New Stuff 9/20-10/1

Yesterday I enjoyed a beautiful day with Tom in Southern Delaware. We went through Dover, Seaford, Georgetown, Millsboro, Rehoboth, Lewes, Slaughter Beach, Leipsig, and Smyrna. That was the first time we had been through Slaughter Beach - it was actually really cool! It's a small town with modest homes and lots of low tags, such as PC705 and PC658. My three favorite sightings for the day:

Big Update

On Thursday 9/11, Tom and I took a drive all through southern Delaware and ended up in Rehoboth. We spotted a grand total of 20 low-digit tags, but this one was the best by_far:

iPod Touch!

As of today, Thursday, August 28, 2008 at 1:04pm, I have 617 pictures of Delaware low-digit license plates. My latest (PC911) was sent to me from a friend.

8-26-08

I've been seeing a lot of 3-digits but the two I like the most in the past two weeks are 302 and PC66. 302 is awesome for the obvious reason that it's Delaware's only area code and PC66 because I had seen it once before but I wasn't able to snap a picture. I finally saw it in Middletown, made a sharp U-turn, and got right up behind it.

No Bungers & Long-Ass Day

I met Adeel and Jason at the Middletown bowling alley and from there we picked up Will. Then we headed up through Wilmington and Greenville. Here are the tags I saw - it sucks I don't collect RV tags!

Relaxing Weekend

This weekend was pretty relaxing. Saturday Tom and I went to Millsboro and Rehoboth looking for tags. I learned that tag 5 is in Millsboro but as we drove through Millsboro, I had no idea where to even look. I guess I'll talk to Mr. Ahmed since he's down there all the time. Anyway, after we drove through Millsboro, we went through Rehoboth and saw a lot of good ones. These were the best two:

We headed to Rehoboth CC and saw a few there - nothing too intense - and went to the outlets to shop.

Sunday was pretty cool too. Church from 9:30-11:30. Costco with the Espinas, Greenville with Roberto and Julian, then chilled at the Espina's house for a while. Here are the tags we saw:

TV - SOLD!

Tags from the past two days: 732, C819, 972, PC11, PC631, 150, 939, C965, 763, PC235, D57.

Feliz Dia de Padres!

Today was a pretty lazy day - not gunna lie. I woke up around 8 and got ready for church. We're on our summer schedule now so there is no choir rehearsal during the week and there is only one service on Sunday instead of two. Church went fine - nothing special. I talked a lot to Evan, Adrienne, Paige, and Jud after the service - great people! After we all dispersed, I headed up for a not-so-quick LDT hunt. First I went through Costco - nothing. Then I went up 141 into Greenville. In my usual shopping centers, I saw 235 and C257. C257 was cool because Tom saw C258 just the other day. I headed up to Bidermann and saw quite a few - PC715, 434, and 314 (PI!). I saw 961 in Greenville coming back on 52. I took 141S back to my place but stopped into Sedgely to see if I could see tag 8. Apparently he (or one of his family members/friends) owns tag 22 also because that was in their driveway. I headed back on Kirkwood Highway and got behind dealer tag 8. I had already seen it but this tag was with the small D that I like:

The only other tag I saw today was PC574 in the Chesdel parking lot. That place always has good tags!

Thursday-Friday ... Again.

So this post covers Thursday 6/12 and Friday 6/13.

THURSDAY

I woke up around 7am and and chilled until my Worship Planning meeting at 9:30am at church. It was pretty productive - we planned music until Sunday, August 3. Starting next week, I'm going to start spending about 3-4 hours in my office each week to plan the entire choir year out for 2008-2009. I left church and went through Greenville to check for tags. I originally intended on going to Bidderman to see if I could spot tag 4 but I had an instinct to go through the usual shopping centers first. I pull into the Jansson's shopping center and what do I see right at the entrance to Jansson's?

UGH! I got out and Peggy Dean, the owner of that tag, was out there. I talked to her for a minute - she's so quiet! Anyway, I left, feeling incredible. I met Tom at Grotto's for lunch and we searched Greenville for more tags. These are some of the ones we saw...

We Have A/C Now!

So if you're looking at the time/date of this post, you see it's Thursday morning instead of Wednesday night. I was too tired to post a blog last night so I'm writing now for yesterday.

I woke up around 8:30am and went to get gas for the lawn mower and my car. I had to cut my neighbor's lawn that morning but, as I was driving through the neighborhood, I saw that the neighbor for whom I was going to cut the grass already had it cut - I guess I missed my opportunity!

I got home and Tom called me, asking me to meet him for lunch in Wilmington. Of course, I accepted, on the condition that we hunt for LDTs and tag 4 after lunch. On the way to Wilmington, I saw this on a hearse:

We met at Grotto's on Pennsylvania Ave. and ate on the patio. I ended up applying for a job there - I really need a second job for some money to put away and pay off my credit cards. Anyway, we headed up to Greenville and went through my usual spots but didn't see anything too intense. We then started to head up to Bidderman to see if we could spot the famed tag 4. We made a right on Kirk Rd. off of 52 and then a left onto Montchanin Rd. from Kirk Rd. As soon as we turned onto Montchanin Rd., I looked in my rear view mirror, I saw a black tag with one character on it. I'm not implying it was tag 4 or even a single-digit tag, but I thought it was certainly worth going back and seeing. Unfortunately, by the time we turned around, we lost them. I was so upset!

Tiredddd.

Tags I saw today: D19, PC404, PC77, 944, PC107, PC364, PC191, PC274, 632, C177, C997, 363, PC344, 757, C324, 692. Good stuff. Especially C997 haha - that's getting SO CLOSE to the limit.

Ugh This Humidity Sucks.

Today was a pretty sweet day, other than the humidity. I got up and returned the Mercedes to the dealer. On the way to West Chester, I saw dealer tag 78:

Right after that, I met Tom at Nino's in the Giant shopping center and we dined there for lunch. He's losing his voice, so that sucks. I headed down through Greenville and I shall now tell you an incredible story of what happened in Greenville.

I was pulling out of the last shopping center I go through on my usual route and I see a white Porsche Cayenne with PC4 on the back. Let me refresh your memory.

He pulled into the gas station right next to the shopping center I was in and, of course, I followed him in. As he got back into the car, I asked him if that was his tag. He told me that it wasn't his but it was the family's tag for whom he worked. He continued to tell me that the family owned PC4 and 4 - they got them as a set many years ago. I asked him if he worked for Peggy Dean (who I know owns tag 4) and he said yes. We continued to talk and I told him that I'd love to see plate 4 and he told me that she goes to Bitterman Golf Club up on Montchanin Road in Greenville every day. He also told me that she was at Elizabeth's Pizza right now if I wanted to see the tag now. Of course, I rushed over there but I guess she had already left. I headed up to Bitterman to see if she was there but, alas, she wasn't. Sad. :[ I headed back to Middletown and chilled for the rest of the day. I went to the Outback with Gary for dinner and I got him to come with Greg and me tomorrow to the beach. Yay that will be awesome. Oh and I also saw this in Greenville - 72 on a blue tag <3

It Was 95 Degrees Today!

I was on my way to West Chester but, of course, I had to drive through Greenville first. The first tag I saw was 14:

About 2 minutes later, I drove behind the number that comes before 14:

Summer Rocks :]

Today was a pretty chill day. I went to my internship for a website meeting and met the conductor I will be playing under on Sunday at St. Anthony's. After the internship, I went through Greenville and saw PC4:

Two Day Update

Today's plates: PC83, PC747, 450, 530, 717, PC661, PC803, 557, D37, PC856, 747, and 715. Please note I saw both 747 and PC747 today. How cool. :]

Great Day!

Hey Everyone!

I woke up and went upstairs to get some breakfast. Instead of eating, however, I ended up mopping the kitchen and sunroom floors. After that, my mom made me a delicious ham and egg sandwich with fresh cherry preserves. That broad knows how to cook! Immediately after breakfast, I got ready and headed over to a neighbor's house to check out her yard (she wants me to do some yardwork for her). We talked for a while and she showed me her property. It looks like a lot of work but she's pretty cool and she'll [obviously] compensate me for it. Before I left, I asked her about her tag (2143). She said she'd sell it to me for $10,000. So I said yes. HAHA just kidding I wish. From there, I stopped back at my house really quick to grab my camera and left to pick up Paige.

After I picked her up, we stopped at Wachovia and then drove up through Greenville to check for any Saturday tags:

Haha that last one is intense - that's SO close to the limit! While we drove up through Centerville, it started to DOWNPOUR! Shortly after that, Nilsa called us to tell us the game was cancelled and that we should just go to their house. We headed up to their house and chilled for a bit. Julian's racing game for Xbox has the ability to customize your license plates with different states and all - of course we used Delaware and I suggested the number 4 on a Ferrari F355. Sweet deal! Shortly after, we headed to Season's Pizza on 202 for some food and then headed out for our trip to F.C. Kerbeck!

We headed up through PA and finally, after about 40 minutes of yelling and screaming, we pulled up to F.C. Kerbeck. We were greeted by three salespeople, asking us if we needed help to find out where to go. We headed up to the second floor, which houses Bentley, Rolls-Royce, and Lamborghini. We took tons of pictures so check them out! Julian asked the salesman to open the door on the LP640 and he agreed to. He even let us all get inside and sit in it! We got to talking and he told me a little bit about their sales - about 1-2 Gallardos per month, 1 Murcielago every two months, and about 15 Bentleys per month. That That was a great experience! After that, we headed downstairs to check out the Maseratis and Aston Martins. I was pretty surprised to see a DBS in stock! It was nice but not as nice as the upstairs portion. Before we headed out, we walked through the second floor one more time. Man those cars are hot. Paige fell in love with the sky blue Bentley Continental GTC - I don't blame her haha. We headed out and headed to the King of Prussia Mall. We only went into Foot Locker, the Hello Kitty Store, Hollister, and Louis Vuitton. After that, we headed to check out Algar Ferrari and then went to my Aunt Tammy's house because there was a family party in progress. We grabbed a small bite to eat and headed back to Delaware. Justin came back with me so that was cool. After we dropped Roberto and Julian off, we headed down through Greenville and the only tag I saw was PC478:

My regular parking lots were EMPTY! Like - there were zero cars in there. I was amazed. Oh well.

Yay No More Escuela!

Finally! No more school. ... til August haha.

Woke up around 10 and gave Alexa piano lessons. Right after piano lessons, my dad asked me if I wanted to go to Costco - of course I said yes! I convinced him to take me to Greenville first haha. We got up there and my dad immediately spotted PC7 - go him! The first car we saw was PC76 on a Bentley Continental Flying Spur:

What a great way to start the day! I also saw PC278 and PC662 in Greenville. After that, we headed down to the Szechuan restaurant for some lunch. It was amazing, as always. Boss was chatting with some people as they were walking out and we were paying and he told us he watched her grow up over the past 30 years. I told him that was incredible and he reminded me that he watched me grow up too. Ahh memories! As we left Szechaun, we spotted a live sighting of PC400 - good sighting! We then headed to Costco and parked RIGHT BEHIND tag 59:

Another fabulous sighting. We went into Costco and did our thing. Before we headed out of the Costco lot, we spotted tag 411. We then headed home and chilled for a bit. I finished two math practice finals and talked to Danielle and Jon for a while. Good people :]

I got to Newark at 7pm on the dot, only to find out that my math final was not in the same room I thought it was going to be. I called my dad and he got the right room off the web - at least what I thought was the right room. It turned out that the room posted on the website was next to the room that I thought it was in (but wasn't). I went into there and the professor in there walked me to yet another room haha. I took my math final and headed promptly to Homegrown to meet Tom. We had dinner and strolled up and down Main St. That was fun. Tom wanted to get a lotto ticket but they were closed for inventory. We headed back to the car - Tom drove me to my car (I walked to Homegrown initially) and we headed back to my house. On the way home, I spotted tag 311 but unfortunately couldn't get a picture! I was so pissed!

Boring Summer Day

Woke up around 9am. Bored. Bullshitted around the house for a few hours. My dad made burgers on the grill for lunch - they were bangin. I eventually headed to Dover to hunt for tags. It was a pretty ritual trip. Spotted 884 in Smyrna. Got to Dover and the first tag I spotted was 95 on an SL500.

Other tags in Dover were 173 and C730 on a school bus haha.

After downtown Dover, I headed to the Dover Downs parking lot and spotted dealer tag 11 on the way out:

Good stuff. I came home and napped until choir rehearsal. Went to choir, came home, chilled. Pretty standard day. I really want to see tags 1-3. I need to find them. I'm pretty lonely though. I need more friends. Bye.

Impromptu Day

Woke up around 8am and wrote some emails to tag brokers in Delaware. I also started to call some lawn companies to get some estimates. One guy, Mike, came to the house and we walked around the grounds so he could check it out. He mentioned something about hiring someone else to help him so I've been pondering that. After he left I went to eat arepas with my dad, uncle Greg, and Justin. We talked for a while about tags and lawn - see how I can make a living out of one (or both) of them. We came up with some pretty interesting ideas. I love talking to my uncle Greg because he is truly a business genius. After some talking, my uncle Greg asked if there was anything to do and I proposed we go to the beach - he accepted. We all took quick showers, got dressed, and headed out!

On the way down, I spotted tag C169. Pretty sweet stuff!

Once we got to the beach, we headed through Lewes. No tags but nice sights. We then took a slight detour to get to the Rehoboth Beach Yacht and Country Club. In the surrounding neighborhood, we spotted tag 66 in a garage:

We then drove around and i MISSED tag 160. I was so pissed! After the RBYCC we went down to Rehoboth Ave to get some Thrashers and to some steak sub shop. Unfortunately, we had to get them to go because we were running late on time. We started to head back home but my dad and I switched driving in Lewes so I could sit in the back and eat my cheesesteak. We got home at 3:25 and I immediately headed up to Greenville to teach piano.

On my way up, I spotted tag 41:

I got to the house around 4pm but they weren't there! I used the time to hunt for low tags in the Greenville/Wilmington area. As I drove through Greenville, the only tag I saw was this:

Heh that's SO intense. I started to drive more through Wilmington but I looked at my gas gauge and I was almost empty. Unfortunately, I had to head home. Blah.

A Memorial Day to Remember

I woke up around 7am and immediately showered. After that, I bullshitted on the computer for a bit and helped my mom and uncle Greg get ready for our Memorial Day BBQ. At around 9:25am, I left for Dover to meet my buddy Tyler so we could hunt for LDTs (low-digit tags) in Sussex County. Right before I met up with Tyler, I spotted D97 at Dover VW.

Before we headed to Sussex County, we stopped through Dover - there was absolutely nothing.

We then headed to a few car dealerships in Milford. The best thing we saw was plate 578 but it was in a garage and there was a guy standing right next to it. I felt a little bit uncomfortable taking the picture so we let it slide. We headed into historic Milford to some school bus yards. My friend Tyler is really into school buses and LDTs so he knows where all the low-digit C tags are, including C90. In one bus yard, we saw (all black tags) C806, C472, and C463. Unfortunately, we never got to see C90 but Tyler said he's going to try to get a picture of it this week. We decided to then drive past the Minner family home in the farm area of Milford and then head to Milton and Harbeson. There was nothing in Milton but in Harbeson, we spotted this:

That was the second-best highlight of our trip!

After that, we headed to Lewes. The roads were FULL of cops and speed traps. We finally got to Lewes and started to drive around - I had no idea that Lewes was so big! Among the tags we saw in Lewes were 645, PC215 (on a beach tag!), PC255, 251, and 185. We then headed to a fairly exclusive development in Lewes and saw PC970, PC577, and PC408. After exhausting all LDT possibilities, we promptly headed over to Rehoboth Beach.

First we drove through the Rehoboth Beach Country Club and Yacht Club and the surrounding neighborhood. Three words. OH. MY. GOD. These houses are ENORMOUS! I will definitely be going there more often.

Here's the breakdown:
  • In the surrounding neighborhood
    • PC639, C692, 218, 777
  • At the RBCC
    • 234, 277, 984, D1, 914
  • Near the beach
    • 293
After Rehoboth, we headed back to Dover to part ways. We decided to stop at Wendy's on Rt. 1 in Rehoboth. I'm not kidding when I tell you that it took us 20 minutes from the time we walked in the door to the time we left with our carryout food. The work ethic in that location was terrible! There were two hourly employees and a manager in the dining room, chatting and gossiping, while this poor older lady worked the whole front counter by herself. I felt terrible! What happened that the work ethic in the country is so bad? Sometimes I'm ashamed of being an American.

We headed back to Dover and, after sitting in 75 minutes of traffic for a drive that should have taken 35 minutes. As soon as we got back to Dover, I suggested that we stop back at Legislative Hall one more time to scout out the reserved parking spots for the governor, lieutenant governor, and the secretary of state (tags 1, 2, and 3). The only one we could find was the lieutenant governor's. Sad.

Summer Days

I woke up around 7:45am sans alarm and I totally thought I overslept for church. Thank god I didn't though! On the way to church, I spotted C79 - I estimate that to be worth around $70,000:

I got to church and did the church thing. I'm glad we're finally on one service. That's much more convenient for me. After church, I headed to the Costco parking lot to browse for plates but saw nothing. After Costco, I went to the mall and saw SJ1 (St. Joe's University) and PC637:

Productive Day!

Oh man I was so productive today! I woke up around 8:30am and immediately went upstairs, not expecting to do anything - not even to do my Saturday Greenville trip. I was greeted by my mom, who was putting new fabric on our kitchen chairs and bar stools. I talked to her for a bit as I helped her remove the staples from the bottom of the chair cushions. Long story short, I talked her into going to Greenville with me as long as we stopped at a few supermarkets on the way back. We also went in her car, which saved me gas so that was pretty rad.

We left the house around 9:25am and made a not-so-quick stop at Dunkin Donuts. I'm not kidding you when I say we sat in that drive-thru for about five minutes. We left there and immediately headed up to Greenville. We stopped into Jansson's for a few minutes to check it out and buy a few things. They had an orchid there for $150 haha that is RIDICULOUS! We headed out and didn't really see any low-digit tags other than this:

We headed to Mercedes-Benz of Wilmington and, while my mom stopped into the Pathmark, I drove around the area to hunt for LDTs, but to no avail. We left and headed towards Kirkwood Highway. On our way, I spotted tag 133 but I couldn't get a picture - lame!

Next, we stopped at the dry cleaners to drop some stuff off and then headed to the pool store to pick up somethin for the pool - obviously haha. We headed to Shop-Rite the back way and I spotted PC545. We got to Shop-Rite and bought some stuff and ate some food. Nothin too intense there. We left and went to Costco and the mall to hunt for LDTs. The only thing there was PC351. My mom ran into the mall really quick to pick up some spice from Willams & Sonoma and then we headed home.

Boringgg Day

Yeahh. Today was kinda lame - not gunna lie.

I woke up around 8:30 -dentist appointment at 9:15. I got there - got my teeth cleaned. Dentist said everything looked perfect. I left and as I was leaving, I spotted tag PC925. Sweet deal. I drove around Middletown for a few and then headed to Christiana Mall to meet my friend Aaron for lunch. We walked around the mall but it was empty and boring. Then we went to Don Pablos around 11am but it didn't open until 11:30. Needless to say, we went across the street to Houlihans. Our waiter turned out to be his friend so that was kinda nifty. It was after lunch that the fun started.

We walked out the door and right in front of us was a white Durango with black tag 979 on the back. We drove out of Houlihans and saw this:

After lunch, I drove Aaron back to his car. When I got out of the car, my jeans ripped ALL the way down my right leg haha. I was like "Uhh. Aaron. Crap." haha. We walked up to Aaron's car to listen to some music and he says "Dude. I have a bad feeling that I left my keys in the car." I look down at the passenger seat and there they are - his keys are sitting on the seat and the doors are locked. Long story short, I had to drive him to his mom's work to get the other keys and then back to the mall. Neat.

After that, I drove to church to start/finish/print my paper for music management. It was easy. I printed that off and left for Greenville to teach piano. That was easy too. While in Greenville, I spotted this:

After that, I headed to Newark to drop my paper off and then I headed home. The rest of the night was a blur, as I was pretty tired (and still am). I just installed Vista SP1 and IE8 Beta 1. Fun times! More on that later.

Night!
